Service with Alateen in Georgia
Basic requirements to become a Georgia Area AMIAS (Al-Anon Member In Alateen Service):
- Must be an Al-Anon member regularly attending Al-anon meetings.
- Be at least 23 years old.
- Have at least two consecutive years of active attendance in Al-Anon in addition to Alateen, 6 months of which must be in Georgia Alanon.
- Completely Georgia Area AMIAS Application forms
- Pass a background check performed annually
- Complete a one-time New AMIAS training within the prior 6 months of becoming certified
- Complete a Mandated Reporter online training module annually and submit a certificate of completion
- If looking to serve as a group sponsor, be willing to commit to showing up consistently for 1 year
- If looking to start a whole new Alateen meeting, we recommend starting one with at least one other Alateen group sponsor
- As a new AMIAS going through recertification, you cannot have a:
- Conviction of a felony
- Conviction of a DUI within the past 5 years
- Conviction of child abuse or other inappropriate sexual behavior
- Demonstrated emotional problems that could result in harm to Alateen members

The process of becoming an Al-Anon Member Involved in Alateen Service is easy. Follow the instructions below and download the necessary forms. All forms are required and can easily be forwarded to the AAPP or other entity. Thank you for your interest in becoming an AMIAS.

Follow the instructions on the form to Fax/Mail the form. Do not send the form to the AAPP.
